What is an open-knit shirt?

Open-knit shirts are summer’s take on a regular knit. Usually short sleeved, they have a slightly looser weave which lets air circulate in the warmer months, keeping you cool. This open structure also allows you to layer them if necessary, but they’re often worn on their own.

Our open-knit shirts are crafted from 100% cotton in a relaxed fit, which makes them super breathable and perfect for laid-back summer events, while the Cuban collars adds a vintage feel. They come in both a classic polo and button-down style.

How to style open-knit shirts

For our take, we’ve leaned into the stripes trend and gone for a retro-inspired look. This makes them real statement makers, coming in a range of rust, sage, taupe and dusty pink tones, but the vertical lines also flatter the body. Our open-knit skipper polos are a smart casual essential this summer – pair with white chinos or pleated trousers and finish with a pair of tonal loafers for a cohesive look.

As for our rust open-knit, it’s the perfect layering piece if you want to add a bit of depth to your outfit. Wear open over a t-shirt or vest for a more casual feel, or button it up and combine with a pair of taupe chinos and matching loafers.
